Therapeutic SomaYoga Private Sessions

with Maile Wicklander MA, RYT-500, MBSR Teacher (Yoga Therapist in Training)

Therapeutic SomaYoga merges somatic principles and yoga to build strength, stability, and flexibility/mobility while fostering an embodied connection between mind and body.

Informed by the work of Thomas Hanna and Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, this method combines gentle, curiosity-driven somatic movements, classic yoga asana, and functional movement for a comprehensive approach to well-being. By releasing tension patterns, retraining muscle imbalances, and integrating interoception practices and proprioceptive touch, SomaYoga helps prevent injuries, calm and stabilize the nervous system, and bring awareness to stress triggers.

Each private session is tailored to your individual needs, guiding you to find easeful postures and modifications that honor your unique body. The result is a more expansive, awake, and fulfilling relationship with your mind, body, and spirit.

SomaYoga is inherently trauma-informed & trauma-sensitive.

SomaYoga can be done on a mat on the floor and/or on a Thai massage table. Physical touch is offered, but is always optional.
